Techniques to Get Your Creative Juices Flowing Again.

Updated: Nov 24, 2023

I was helping a friend in Melbourne on Friday. With a change in routine, I forgot to write and send my weekly blog. My Fridays typically involve an early coffee, laptop, headphones and creative juices flowing.

Writing my blog on a Monday without the soothing smell of a coffee has been a bit of a challenge, and I have felt a little bit stuck. How I have been feeling today has become my weekly blog inspo for you.

When you feel stuck I hope it helps you to get your creative juices flowing again.

Try these five techniques to get creative:

1.

Go for a walk, run or if you really need to dig deep into the creative process, try a hike. Like me, you probably spend too much of your time cooped up in your workspace.

Break that habit by seeking inspiration, getting out into the great outdoors, and getting your adrenaline pumping.

2.

If you obstruct your creative process by being too rigid or expecting too much too soon, you'll send your creative juices into a hideout indefinitely. Release the pressure and allow your mind to express itself freely.

Choose a topic close to your heart and write the words that come to your mind without editing. Or grab some colour pencils and doodle in your notepad.

3.

Read about how someone you consider a hero tackled their challenges. Their methods could spark ideas for solutions to your challenges. Connect your purpose and passion to what you listen to. Chuck out everything else - honestly, it does not serve you.

4.

Your office may be the cause of your creative block. Sitting in the same chair day after day can certainly take its toll on your ability to produce. So head to a coffee shop, park, or bookstore for a rush of energy that'll inspire you to create!

5.

The fear of failure is often the only barrier between you and success. So let your insecurities fall by the wayside and move forward with your ideas.

Remember, creative blocks are like mosquitoes.

You can put screens in your windows to keep them out, but a few always find a way to break through the netting. Similarly, you have little say in when or where your creative juices will disappear.

It's more challenging to be creative when your back is against the wall. Just about everything is more difficult during times of stress.

So try these five techniques or share any techniques that work for you with me.

About the author:

Hey there my name is Kathie, I've been in the business world for over 25 years, steering various ventures to success with turnovers of up to 3 million dollars. It all started when I was 27, and since then, I've been fully committed to making businesses not just run but thrive. After two decades of immersing myself in product-focused ventures, I decided to take it to the next level. I launched my own business consultancy, with a clear mission: helping businesses and non-profits grow. My secret sauce? Strategic thinking and a solid commitment to seeing people not just survive but excel. I have a track record to prove it. Taking businesses from ground zero to six figures has been my specialty. How did I do it? Well, chalk it up to thinking strategically, a clear plan, consistency, resilience, adaptability, and a good old dose of stubborn determination.

I've got the scars and the stories to back it up. Like to know more? Say Hello. x Kathie
