Kim's Story

Updated: Nov 24, 2023

Have you ever had someone ask you for your advice, and then…resist everything you had to say?

At the end of last year, one of my clients (let's call her Kim) called me and said she decided she needed to "finally get organised" (her words). So, she (we) decided that our mission was to develop a plan for her business for 2024.

The only problem was that as we started to develop the plan, Kim was doing everything she could to wiggle out of committing to anything.

Kim is one of those entrepreneurial women who loves her freedom so much that she resists anything that might tie her down. She is not lazy. I have witnessed her determination drive and see the time she spends working in her business.

Every day she moves mountains…

But (and it's a BIG BUT)

It doesn't always get her where she wants to go because she's working without a clearly defined focus or direction (can you relate?).

So, after a bit of a bust-up and a few days to think, Kim came back to me with a focus on deciding to do things differently.

With only a few smaller hiccups, we made it through her Business Success Story Worksheet and Mynders' Business Decision-making Model.

She now knows what her priorities are.

The next step was putting them into her Marketing Calendar.

And then we hit another snag.

Did you say calendar?

Well, that was non-existent (unlike mine, I had 2024 planned out in Nov 2023).

Remember my client's commitment phobia?

Anyway, she dug deep and completed the marketing calendar. Then something unexpected happened…she started to see the beginning of this year snap into focus and get excited about her next steps.

So we caught up last week, and she is seeing a real difference in what she chooses to focus her time on. She's (nearly) now more organised than I am ;-).

The thing is...

The two most essential factors for your business success are how you spend your time and where you direct your focus. 99% of business owners give away their time and focus on the squeaky wheel, the urgent but unimportant things that must get done but don't necessarily get you where you want to be.

It's not too late to start 2024 the right way.

Direct your energy to what matters to you. Creating a Business Success Story will make the difference between having a business stuck in neutral or driving your success forward.

Are you ready for commitment?
